With its season-ending status on the ATP Champions Tour, The Masters Tennis is one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments on British soil. The qualification criteria for this event ensures a competitive and high quality Singles field.
In order to play in a ATP Champions Tour event, the player must no longer be active on the ATP Tour and have either been:
• Ranked Number 1 in the World
• A Singles Finalist in a Grand Slam Championship
• A Singles Player on a winning Davis Cup Team
The Masters Tennis is now firmly established as the UK’s most popular indoor tournament – drawing crowds of more than 35,000 over the course of the event.
FORMAT
Eight players will be split into two groups of four and will compete in a round-robin tournament from Tuesday through to Saturday. The winner from each group will go through to the final on the Sunday afternoon session.
