Novak Djokovic & Flavia Pennetta win 2015 US Open

Novak Djokovic is the US Open 2015 champion after defeating Roger Federer in a 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 match. The win is the Serbian’s third major title of the year and is the tenth of his career. Djokovic is the first pro tennis player to win three out of four Grand Slams in a year since 2011 which happens to be himself who did it back then. He won Wimbledon, the Australian Open and the US Open in both years.

In the Women’s US Open final, Italian player Flavia Pennetta took home the title after beating Italian player Roberta Vinci in a 7-6(7-4), 6-2. The win makes Pennetta the oldest Grand Slam champion in the women’s Open era. Pennetta announced that she will be finishing up this year in tennis but has made the decision to retire.
