Nadal And Williams Take 2013 French Open Championship Trophy

Rafael Nadal has won the French Open 2013 against Spains David Ferrer in a 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 sweep at Roland Garros on Sunday June 9, 2013. This win is Nadal’s fourth year in a row, 2010-2013. The Spaniard won 4 years straight back in 2005-2008, missing just one year, 2009, losing to Robin Soderling, which would have made it 9 years in a row. Nadal now holds the record for winning the most Grand Slam titles.

In the female tournament, Serena Williams won the trophy beating Maria Sharapova 6-4,6-4 which makes it her second French Open Championship Title. Her first was won eleven years ago. Serena has won 16 Grand Slam titles which brings her close to Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova, who have both taken home 18 Grand Slam Titles.
